Well, it certainly feels like I'm starting at the beginning! I may normally be in the habit of eating well and keeping fit but 'normal' is not really how life feels at the moment. On top of being in Covid-19 national lockdown #3, we've had a seemingly endless supply of stress and bad news recently. I'm terrible at turning to comfort food when things feel tough and after sadly losing my husband's mum last weekend, I confess to hitting the chocolate aisle on the food shop this week, under the guise of 'half term treats'. Don't get me wrong, it's not all sofas and screens - my son and I are doing PE with Joe three times a week, walking the dog every day and I've been adding some workouts and yoga to the mix but my strength has deteriorated and despite the healthy meals, the snacking is not ideal!
So, I begin my first blog post feeling like I have further to go in achieving my goal that I initially thought I would. With my husband home for the first time in nearly two weeks this weekend, there's no denying there won't be more 'treating' in the form of food and drink too.... I'll start Monday, ok?!
I know what I need to do, it's just doing it, right? Here's hoping the spring weather will arrive soon, lockdown will be eased and my energy and motivation will return. In the meantime, if anyone has any advice on how to bypass the chocolate aisle, please do let me know!
